Query Name not visible when prompting workbook.

Hi BI users,

We have recently upgraded to Analysis 2.2.

I noticed that when users are prompting workbooks that it no longer shows the query name between each section of prompts.

This was very useful as you clearly new which prompt belonged to which workbook.

 

One other issue is in the old Analysis (1.4) you use to be able to go to the crosstab and change the name of the query by using the Formula Alias, when prompting the workbook it would show the revised name, useful for users with many queries in one workbook.

 

I was wondering if anyone else faced this issues and found a solution?

Can we Install SAP Business Objects ANalysis tool via Silent package

We are in process of rolling out SBOP 1.4 SP10, to users and wanted to know if we can create a Silent Package and deploy using SCCM tool?

 

 

I looked at Both the Admin guide and User guide but could not find any information in this regards.

Getting Log on Pop up in Analysis edition for MS Excel

Hi,

 

We are getting attached log on pop up even while launching normal excel application(not Report Analysis for Excel Report).

 

I know a work around to disable the add in from Options>Add. Is there any solution to this?

Connect Analysis office using BI Launch pad web service URL not working

Hi,

 

In our company we are upgrading from AFO 1.4 to AFO 2.3, but for 1.4 version is connected via the Netweaver system settings, but for AFO 2.3 we would like to use the BO server connection. we have installed the AFO 2.3 along with the AO_APP config file as described in the admin guide. But when we start AO, and choose Select datasource, the BI launch pad appears, but the Web service URL that we are providing is not working. It is giving the yellow warning sign with the message "Error while checking availability of SAP business objects BI platform system" We are 100% sure the web url is in correct format and its working, as the same URL is used to connect to the Design studio and users are using it already. But to connect to AO, using BI launch pad is not working even though we have the config file and right URL in place. What else could be missing in this case ? Any suggestion please ?.

Hi All,

 

I have a General question regarding AOE 2.2

 

Is it possible to view the Connections on AOE 2.2 if the local machine does not have Business Explorer installed on it ?

 

More specifically, if the local machine does not have Business Explorer installed on it, where should the saplogon.ini file be placed ?

 

Currently I hvae installed AOE 2.2 SP 01 Patch 01 and I cannot see any Connection at all.

Verification please: Issue in AO 2.2.3, Variable screen filter list not removeable

Dear colleagues,

before opening an OSS note, I would like to know if you can verify an issue which obviously only occured since BW 7.40 on HANA, not in BW 7.31.

It occurs in 1.4.14, as well as in 2.2.3.

 

Take one random query and fill one variable in the prompt screen with ~ 100 items, e.g. material or customer number (via button "copy from clipboard", e.g. as key fields)

 

Doing it initially it takes only 2-3 seconds, and you can execute the query. So far so good.

 

If you re-open the prompt sreen, I see a warning saying there are more filter values that can be displayed, which means there is only the one single line with the filter button next to it.

 

If I now try to open the same filter menu again it takes minutes... after 2-3 minutes the Screen opens blank without anyone of the ~ 100 numbers.

--> So, I could not deselect any of them

When I try to paste via clipboard only 1 or any of the already included ones, it tells me, it cannot be included ???

In previous versions only the one would show up, you could execute it and afterwards remove the single entry via the blue X on the right side of the Input field ... as of now, I don't see any chance to remove that filter?!

 

Whoever is on BW 7.40 on HANA, could you please test with any AO Version and let me know the outcome?

Unable to Install Analysis for Office 2.3

when i try to install the tool for 64 bit - it says i already have the 32 bit version installed

 

but when i go to Add/Remove programs or C:\Program Files (x86) there is nothing in either location.

 

I'm trying to install it on my machine that is running Office 365 2016 - is this possible?

Silent Uninstall SAP BO Analysis for Office 2.3

All,

 

We tried uninstalling Analysis for Office 2.3 version using Silent Mode as given in the note 2139406 but it doesn't seem to be working,, However silent Install works,, we have MS Office version 2010 and 2013 both 32 bit version and 64 bit version,, Your help is really appreciated,,

 

Tried below commend:

 

"c:\Program Files (x86)\SAP\SapSetup\Setup\NwSapSetup.exe" /product="SapCof" /Silent /uninstall

 

or

 

"c:\Program Files (x86)\SAP\SapSetup\Setup\NwSapSetup.exe" /product="SapAoo" /Silent /uninstall

Analysis for Excel report usage information

Hi,

I am trying to find out the analysis for excel report usage information. I want to know which users have used specific Analysis for Excel reports during last few months. My understanding is 0TCT_MC01 has field BI Application which should display the Analysis for Excel workbook name. I am running report in SAP BW 7.01 SP 16. I am running Analysis for Excel 2.2 SP 02.

 

This field is empty in the cube for Analysis for Excel workbooks.
I have default set to 'X ON' on DSDDSTAT option and this is a new workbook.

Do I need any additional settings?

 

When I run a BeX workbook in production, the field BI Application is getting populated however when I run AnEx workbook the field BI Application is not populated.

Currency issue

Hi All

AO work book (Excel) will display data in RMB currency only (such a way bex query is designed ) but when I use prompts to change variable selection for "Fiscal period range" the work book data converting into US dollars$ but it should not happened.

Please find the attached doc for reference and please let me know how to prevent this to display only currency RMB.

Central code base for Analysis Office Workbooks

Hi All,

 

In our organization currently we use Analysis office workbooks for Planning and Reporting purpose, these AFO workbooks with VBA macro code lines, are get stored in SAP Neatweaver Platform.

 

Here my problem is even though we have same lines of code being used in all the workbooks, we need to have all macros stored in each workbooks separately, and so if i have to make any single line of code changes in all the workbooks , i need to touch up all the workbooks( 30 times) and make a change,

 

So is there any way where i can store all the macro required in one place and access these macros from AFO workbooks?, and for any code changes make changes only at one place and get appropriate results in all the workbook?

 

It would greatly help us in reducing the maintenance efforts and resources needed for making code changes to workbook.

Strange behavior with workbooks in AO 2.3.1 - refresh datasource

Hello,

 

a view minutes ago I installed AO 2.3.1 and noticed a strange behavior with some workbooks, created with AO 1.4 and saved on the BO server.

 

One example:

 

We have a workbook with 6 datasources in it.

 

After I have inserted the promts and let the Queries run, there is no result.

 

Only after pressing "Refresh All" the crosstab of each Query is available.

But when I have done this step one time and save the workbook, the next time it works fine.

 

But this is not really an option to do it for all the workbooks we have.

 

Has anyone had the same experience?

I have tried with all releases 2.0, 2.1 SP3 and 2.2 SP2 and the problem is the same.

 

Any windows/office patch installed since two weeks ago.

Analysis for Office does not refresh the values correctly

Hello,

I finda little strange problem with AOtorefreshthe data after recording data in a template problem, this happens to me in theintegration and production environments, developing me working properly.


I explain:


When we do the action to save the data in a standard template for IBP, the system sends the data to the database but deletes the contents of the cell that had value.

When we close the template and return to open the system retrieves the values that had been sent and displayed correctly in the Excel cells, But sometimes even closing the template and reopen the template data is not fully updated, but if stored properly in the database.



1. Access for SAP BusinessObjects Analysis for Office and open the IBP standard template:


 

 

2. Enter an amount to a cell and then record the data:




3. After recording the data, cell is blank:


 

4. We refresh the entire workbook, but the cell remains blank:


 

 

I upgraded versionto versionAO (2.3):


 

This problem happens with all templates, both standard templates as new templates.


I have the following parameters defined in all templates:


 



Sometimes even when I record the data and close the template and open it again, closing the AO and restarting the AO, the template does not show all the values stored in the database:




BW:



As you can see in the capture of BW, is an amount for the period (1)  200 € which is not shown in the template AO.


It is very very strange what is happening, any ideas that might be?

Error message: The Analysis Add-In is not registered correctly

Hi guys,

 

Myself and some of the Business users have been receiving the following message

I get this message when I try to view a file from the BO Platform (not via Excel). The users that get the message are unable to launch Analysis even if they select Close. They have to add the Add-In manually by ticking the Analysis name via the Add-Ins section.

 

The only thing that I am aware of changing it that we are rolling out Skype for Business across the company.

 

Has anyone else seen this error?

 

The users are on 1.4.7 but it happens on 2.1.2 and other versions.

 

I found note 1943590 which although it has a similar message, I don't think address the issue...

FPMXLClient.TechnicalCategory Could not be found

Hi Expert,

 

I have installed the AFO 2.1 with EPM, after that I can able to use the AFO without any issue and while checking the EPM.

 

I am getting error in excel while opening the report from BPC platform but excel is working properly while opening the report thru excel add-in login.

 

Error reproduce:

1) login to BPC portal in IE

2) access some report in BPC and try to open it in excel

3) the below error appearing

Working way:

1) Open EPM in excel

2) login to BPC platform

3) navigate to report and open

4) the report is opening and can able to refresh it.

 

So please help me on this...

Free dimension field has to be input ready in analysis office

Scale factors in AO workbook after filtering...

Hi experts,

 

I´m having a problem with AO 2.2 regarding scale factors:

 

I created a workbook and the scale factors are displayed like it should be:

When I start to filter the columns the scale factors are gone and there is no way to get them back to be displayed:

 

I remove some columns:

I accept with "OK" and the scale factors are gone:

The row is gone...

 

Do you guys have an idea how to get back the scale factors?

 

The option "show scale factors" in the menu  "key figures" is still checked.

setting to execute bex queries parallel at BO analysis for excel report side

hello everyone,

 

We have a analysis for excel report which is based on top of 10 Bex queries with BICS driver. I noticed them to run slower then expected.

I learnt from my past experience that, BW will run these bex queries serially not in parallel. and i believe because of this my analysis for excel report runs much slower.

Since we are with good hardware. latest release of BoBJ 4.1, So i wonder, is it possible to instruct  system someway to run these queries parallely so that the data retrieval will be faster?

 

Please advise.

Add a data source using VBA

Dear all,

 

I am quite new in SAP Analysis for Office. One of my first steps is to set up an automatic reporting workbook for products.

 

I have to show n times a specific query (query designer). Every product should have an own spread sheet in Excel and the queries shuold be filled by different variables (product_Ids).

 

My questions:

Is there a way to add the data source (query) into an Excel wokbook using VBA?

I want to prepare a kind of master list containing the relevant product IDs. The macro should Loop the table and

a) add an addtional table in the Excel workbook

b) add a copy of the specific product query and

c) fill the query's variable with the relevant product-Id

 

In the user guide I found a command to set/Change the query variables but I did not find a way to add a new query.
