We are currently using SAP Analysis, Office Edition 1.4.10 and are having an issue with using SSO directly to BW.
If we create a workbook, connected directly to our BW 7.4 Sandbox and BW 7.3 QA environments using SSO and then send the workbook to some people in the group, they are being prompted for their userid and password, rather than automatically using SSO to connect to BW. I can send the workbook to other people and it uses SSO, like I would expect it to. We have confirmed that the users experiencing the issue have valid logins to our environments, their account is not locked and their password is valid.
When we create a new workbook, connected directly to our BW 7.3 Production environment using SSO and then send the workbook to others, it automatically detects that we want to use SSO and logs them in with their credentials.
In this example, we have 64-bit Analysis for Office deployed using Microsoft RDS. It seems to work fine if we use a locally installed version of 32-bit Analysis for Office.
We are interested in understanding where in the workbook the connection information is stored. We opened all of the xml files included in the xlsx file and do not see the BW system we are connecting to or whether we should be using SSO or non-SSO.
Can anyone point me to information on how the connection information is stored with the workbook? Any information will be helpful while we work through the troubleshooting.
Thanks!
Sarah
Hi,
can anybody help me with this error?
I have tried with all releases 2.0, 2.1 SP3 and 2.2 SP2 and the problem is the same.
Any windows/office patch installed since two weeks ago.
Thanks in advance.

Hello Experts,
Recently we have migrated Bex Analyzer report to Analysis for Office. Post migration we have found some performance issues
in AFO comparing it with the existing Analyzer Report.
In our case user wants to use Paste from the Clip board option. "Add Lines Using Filter by Members" is taking considerable time with compare to the
same option we have in Bex Analyzer. The possible reason is, AFO populates all the list of values while opening the window for Multiple select from the list or using the clip board.
Also, when the clipboard contents are copied, it does a validation to check if items are matching with the backend contents.
Is there any way, any property or registry setting that we can bypass LOV population and validation after pasting the contents from the clip board?
We are using BW 7.02, AFO 1.4.13.
AFO is directly connecting to BW, we do not have the BO Enterprise in the landscape.
Hello Community,
Need your inputs on below issue:
We are using SAP BI 4.1 SP3 Patch 3 on Windows Platform with Analysis Edition for Office version 2.2.
Our end users wants data in their local language, hence we have enabled “Allow Client and Language Selection for SSO” option on locally AOF client.
Issue here is while opening AO workbook from BI-Launchpad, language selection screen doesn't pop-up for few workbooks; however if we opens the same workbook from Excel and clicked File >> Analysis >> Open Workbook, then language selection prompt pops-up.
Most important only few users are complaining about this behavior. For me and for rest users same workbooks prompt us for language selection while opening from BI-Launchpad. Looks like its a user specific issue.
Could you please advice on possible cause of the issue?

Mahesh
As I managed to get the kit for latest version of BO Analysis 2.2 SP2 that is tagged by SAP as compatible with Office 2013 and 2013 and Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10 both 32 and 64 bit versions, I had installed it in Windows 7 x64 with Office 2013 x64 without any issue. After launch all the functionalities are working ok, great.
When I have tried the same Analysis with the same Office but on my newer machine with Windows 10 x64 that needs to replace the out of warranty one (with Windows 7), I had bumped into 1 big issue as the installation does not detects Office 2013 64 bit at all (see image)...
Any change of a workaround or is this a known issue that might be solved into next release SP3 of same 2.2 version?
Hi,
Did anyone experienced delay with "Insert data source" in AO 2.2?
We are having delay of approx. 15sec with AO 2.2, whereas in AO 1.4 it was instantaneous.
We have this problem when accessing the Analysis Add-In from Excel.
However we don't have this delay with 'Analysis for Excel' from program folder, but this method takes 15secs for the Analysis splash screen to go away.
Please advice if anyone have an idea about it.
Thanks,
Reshma M.
hi,
on the server windows 2012 r2 both version of .net 3.5 and 4.5 were installed. the setup checks the prerequisites and sets the status for prerequisite 'microsoft .net framework 4.5 or higher' on failed.
after the uninstall of .net 3.5 and restart the server, the same failure: please install 'microsoft .net framework 4.5 or higher'.
an idea how to deal with that here?
thanks,

Hi guys, this is my first discussion on SCN. Please excuse-me if I did something wrong.
I would like to know if it is possible to disable Design Panel for the end user consumers.
In my company we have the context where the "Power Users" are responsible to create, mantain and save the workbook Analysis on BIP (Business Intelligence Platform). The "End Users" will just consume that workbook already created/saved by the Power User on BIP without be allowed to make changes, just refresh the data.
I am thinking to disable the design panel, but if there is another way to do that, feel free to help me.
Thanks in advanced.

HI - Below are the same query and the same data source system for an AFO. The difference being the version of AFO. Is there a new setting or a setting that the newer version is now looking at in BW to show different prompt views for date ...?
The older version shows actual data points. The newer versions shows a calendar view.
Kind regards,
Kelly
Hi all, we have SSO configured and working well however I have noticed that if I try to open a workbook from Netweaver, or save a workbook to Netweaver it prompts me to log on using my SAP BW credentials. Surely there is a way to store analysis workbooks on the Netweaver platform but leverage single signon?
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
thanks

Hi all,
I'm on BWoHANA 7.4 SP13 (Hana 1.00.110) and CPMBPC 810 SP008.
I facing an issue when open some bex query with EPM Add-in of Analysis for office 2.2 SP2.
I try to open a query but not all members selector will show dimension values (image attached).
Bex query is running well on Analysis for Office 2.2 (not EPM Add-in and INA Provider).
We try to follow this two topics (same issue) but note 2112328 - EPM Add-In Empty Dimension Selector After SP20 Upgrade is not applicable on 7.4 SP13.
Dmenstion Member not visible in EPM BPC 10.1 Unified.
EPM on INA provider does not return dimension (characteristic members)
Every time we try to invoke a bex query with ina provider a short dump GETWA_NOT_ASSIGNED appears on backend side (attached image).
Someone can help me?
Thanks

Hi all,
i have created an analysis for office file to monitor the sales of many branch offices. I want to send out
the file to each branch office including their specific sales data on a monthly basis. Also i want them to send me
their planned sales for the year so i can put it in the file too. After that i need to create some office formulars to compair
the real sales (that is the analysis part) with their planned sales and give them some key figures (Ms office excel part).
Now the problem:
I want to send these files out with CMC Central Managment Consol. It will create the files every month and send them out to my colleagues in every branch. BUT the Ms Office formulars are not refreshing after the data has been changed. The formulars are referring to the right cells of the Analysis for office part, but the results are old. It neither works if you press F9 to refresh all formulars, so i had to create an office macro which selects
every cell with excel formular, press F2 and than Enter what does actually work. So my colleagues need to press a button to refresh all formulars.
Not a perfect solution but it works.. ;-)
BUT i need another solution for that because there will be files which i will sent to mobile advices and you cant process a macro on a mobile advice.
Is there an update fixing that office formular problem?
Thank you very much for your help.
Best regards,
Jannik
I´m starting to work with Analysis for Office and BPC embeded version. Specifically I´m trying to make work the work Status from the Planning functions tool bar. But i can´t even make the button available. I´m following the steps available at the AFO SAP documentation --> http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/AMS22/en/22SP2_analysisplugin_user_en.pdf. If i´m not missing something. Is pretty much configure the Work Status at the Wed admin tool. Which i done.
I can use all the planning functions but not the work status. If indicate the planning Model. I should be able to use the Ws button .
If possibly that i need the BIP add on ?
We are on HANA BPC SP8 , BW 7.4 , BO 4.1 SP4
Thanks you for any input .

Hi all,
when I check from the "Info"-menu the version details of my installed Anlaysis for Office EXCEL Add-In, it shows me
Version: 1.4.11.3353
Which SP-level is that?
Best regards,
Philipp Hinnah
Hi,
I am using Analysis for Office (AFO) versión 2.2. It worked fine in my previous client, but it doen't work fine in my actual client. When I try to open a workbook via SAP Netweaver Platform I get an error message (warning) telling that the system does not support the function. A SP level is required for back end.
I can access via BO Platform in Test environment, but not in Production.
My question is: What is the minimal BW version and SP requirements in BW server to use AFO via Netweaver Platform?
Any help is welcome.
Thanks.
Dear SAP Community,
Analysis Office Workbook scheduling is failing in all environment (Prod/Dev/Test) for all users with below error message:
Error: Error during scheduling; workbook does not contain OLAP connection.
Environment Details are as below:
- Product Version: SAP BI 4.1 SP6 Patch 3
- Analysis Office BIP Server Add-on 2.2 (server version)
- SAP BO Analysis Edition for Office 2.2.2.55076 (client version)
- Server OS: Windows Server 2012 R2
SSO using STS to backend BW server works fine
We followed SAP KBA: 2134836: Checklist for scheduling Analysis for office workbooks. We made sure all necessary things are in place however all workbooks are continues failing.
We are able to view and refresh same affected workbooks when opened from AAO client. Only scheduling part is impacted via BI-Launchpad in all environments.
I could not attach complete logs here, but here is the snippet for reference. Could someone assist us on this?
Regards,
Mahesh
Users have been reporting this issue in Analyzer for Excel 1.4.0.2528. (Office 2010)
I've researched and there's a registry hack which can clear the issue up.
Unfortunately checking the various installs, the key just doesn't exist. It doesn't go beyond the SAP key which should be AdvancedAnalytics.
Other sources point out a file location in AppData - that location doesn't exist either.
Has there been a change or update or something else to review to fix this limitation problem?
Thanks.
