Comments not getting saved through Analysis for Office

Hi Experts,

 

               We have been working on creating a planning solution which provides the user to input comments against the planning data.  We are using Analysis for Office 2.2 ( BW 7.5 on HANA SP10).  Inputting comments works fine in done through RSRT ( comments gets saved in the backend).  But when the same comments are being input through Analysis for Office, all the plan data gets saved except for comments. 

 

             Also, there is another behavior of Analysis for Office which is mysterious.  When we are trying to select members ( master data for characteristics, it behaves differently.  If i'm not already selecting any master data in any column of characteristics and just looking at the available master data from member selector ( ? symbol ),  every column shows its respective MD in the selections.  But when i make a selection for a characteristic master data in one column,  in next column Member selection doesn't show up any Master data for that columns characteristic. 

 

             Not sure, if i'm missing a trick or as such. Would appreciate, If anyone of you could provide a solution at the earliest.

Show dimensions in Analysis Tab

Hi Experts,

 

Is it possible to do a clustering of Chararcteristics in the Analysis Tab in BO Analysis for Excel?

We have some queries with a lot of free characteristics and want to add a clustering / classification of infoobjects in the Analysis tab like the clustering of infoobjects in a multiprovider with the dimensions. It would be sufficient to have the infoobjects per Dimension in the Analysis tab.

 

Is there any solution available for clustering?

 

I searched in the SCN and in the documentation of BO Analysis but I didn't find anything.

BW-IP:free text can enter by Analyzer but can't do it in Analysis Office

Hi Experts

 

I created a characteristic without master data and text. Which is used for record comments during planning. I can write free text into this characteristic by BEx Analyzer. But I can't do this in AO. AO not allowed input a record which not exist in master data into characteristic.

I did searched a lot on SCN for work around this issue. Set Characteristic as Key Figure might solve my problem but I am using BW7.0. Which still not support this feature. Does anyone has any other solution on this?

How can I manipulate the order of the Web-Service URLs

Hello,

 

I want to clarify about " How can I  manipulate the order of the Web-Service URLs" . Allready two URLs are existing (see Screen shot below). The first URL is for the development system and the second is for the production. I want that the second system rank first.

Do not see connections from analysis for excel

Hi,

 

I have just installed analysis for excel (SP9) on excel 2013 x64 but when I go to select the data source I don't see the connections to BW. I also installed SP10 for windows 7 x64 and excel 2013 x64 but the same.

 

The connection to BW exists.

 

Can anybody help me?

Excel 2016 crashes when closing a file if SAP Analysis 2.2 is enabled

Hello Everyone,

 

I have a problem with Excel 2016 ( 64 bit) and SAP Analysis 2.2. Just recently we installed both and they are operating on Windows 7 enterprise platform. Every time when Analysis 2.2 is enabled and I close a file in excel, it crashes. To avoid that, I disable the add in and then close. Is there a solution to this? Is it related to a security patch or EMET file?

Please let us know if there is a solution to this?

AO 2.2 Object reference not set to an instance of an object

Hi,

 

I have installed SBOP ANALYSIS MS OFFICE 2.2 - 32 bit and Excel 2010 32 bit.

 

Operating system is Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit.

.net 4.5.1 installed

HANA ODBC driver 32 and 64 bit also ( HANA 1.00.102.02 )

 

When I open Analysis for Microsoft Excel and try to insert a new datasource

after I skip first screen I get the following error in Excel

 

Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

 

With AO 1.4 everything works fine.

 

Please help.

Macro SAPLogon is very slow

Hi,

 

 

 

I use the Analysis Office API to connect with the SAPLogon macro and refresh my reports. Unfortunately the logon macro needs about 30 seconds to connect to my SAP system.

 

 

 

I think this is very slow, because when I want to automate my reports (about 1.000 reports), I have to close and open Excel again, because Excel needs to much RAM after a few reports.

 

 

 

Is there anyone you have the same problems? Is there maybe a better solution? I use Analysis Office 2.2 SP2.

Save Template in AFO

Hello Experts,

 

Currently working on HANA Live view. I am executing HANA Live view from Browser and opening the data in AFO. We have AFO 2.2 Installed.

 

Now I would like to save that workbook either in Mydocument or Role.

 

When I tried to save I am getting error as "Cannot save workbook in 2.0 format because it is still in 1.4 format and contains an inactive SAP HANA data source" and if I tried with "Save as 1.x Format " getting error as "Cannot save workbook in 1.4 format due to an SAP HANA data source".

 

Need some help on that.

AO Planning - Member Recognition

I'm using input ready bex query in AO for planning.

 

In AO 2.1, If I provide a partial value for any info object characteristic and hit "Enter" key, it prompted with a list of master data.

In AO 2.2, If I provide a partial value for any info object characteristic and hit "Enter" key, it shows a warning message saying invalid value.

In order to find a solution I tried below options, but no luck

 

1. Searched in AO 2.2 User Guide

2. Searched on service.sap.com for topics like AO planning, AO member selector, AO input value help

3. Went through certain SAP notes, SCN discussions, wiki pages and blogs.

Analysis 2.2 SP2 startup issue

Hi All,

 

I recently upgraded to Analysis 2.2 SP2 and noticed that I am unable to launch 'Analysis' from Programs-> SAP Business Intelligence -> SAP Business Objects Analysis -> Analysis for Microsoft Excel'. As a workaround I am able to enable the 'Analysis' add-in from excel through File-> Options-> Add-ins-> COM Add-ins-> Analysis option.

 

From the log that I realize that the excel is unable to find the Analysis application. Have any of you faced this/similar issue and were able to fix it?

AO 2.2 - Swap axis issue is not fixed with SP02?

Hi,

 

we are not able to access "Swap Axis" with AO 2.2.

 

As per the note 2130116, the issue will be fixed with SP02, but we didn't find with SP02 as well.

 

Please advice if anyone has an idea about it?

Support of MS Office 2016

Hi all,

 

As I have seen some questions related to Office 2016, I decided to create this post just to clarify that the developers are already working on it and MS Office 2016 is planned to be supported in AO 2.2 in Q1, 2016.

 

Currently it is not supported. You can refer to PAM to check the supported environments.

AO 2.1 SP2 Error - 'Caught exception: exception 42733: The dependent element was not found: :'

Dear All,

 

I am using Analysis for Office 2.1 SP2 , and while trying to slice and dice a HANA information view in AFO I am getting the error : ' 'Caught exception: exception 42733: The dependent element was not found: :' 

 

Steps to recreate the issue are

I have a HANA calcualtion view with a calculated column which considers 'date field' in it for a calculation , the expression is correct and the data is showing up in HANA  studio - Data preview .

 

How ever when I am using same calculation view in AO , in the first instance all the measures are coming up as expected. ( aggregated values)

When I drag any dimension into the report then the attached error comes up . I made sure all the fields considered in the calculated column are coming up with some value.

 

I cross checked if this is a data issue with Analysis for OLAP tool , surprisingly I am able to view the data slice and dice it with dimensions in the OLAP tool.

 

The wierd part is when I remove the calculated column which consumes the date field the AO for excell is working fine and allows me to slice and dice the data.

 

Any suggestions/ workarrounds how to overcome this error?

Analysis for Excel - Error message "Could not save the default style set (ID-105074)"

Hello,

One of our users located in Turkey receives this error message while trying to insert a Data Source.

There are also other messages :

"Could not find a part of the path 'C:\User\eerol\AppData\Roaming\SAP AG\ ...

"Failed while trying to log on user EMRE EROL RFC error: "ID:AM Type:W Number ...

 

Could you please help ?

BW Ina provider empty values (and short dump) when calling member selector

Hi all,

I'm on BWoHANA 7.4 SP13 (Hana 1.00.110) and CPMBPC 810 SP008.

 

I facing an issue when open some bex query with EPM Add-in of Analysis for office 2.2 SP2.

 

I try to open a query but not all members selector will show dimension values (image attached).

Bex query is running well on Analysis for Office 2.2 (not EPM Add-in and INA Provider).

 

We try to follow this two topics (same issue) but note 2112328 - EPM Add-In Empty Dimension Selector After SP20 Upgrade is not applicable on 7.4 SP13.

 

Dmenstion Member not visible in EPM BPC 10.1 Unified.

EPM on INA provider does not return dimension (characteristic members)

 

 

Every time we try to invoke a bex query with ina provider a short dump GETWA_NOT_ASSIGNED appears on backend side (attached image).

 

Someone can help me?

analysis office 2.2 bip addon install failed

hi,

 

on the server windows 2012 r2 both version of .net 3.5 and 4.5 were installed. the setup checks the prerequisites and sets the status for prerequisite 'microsoft .net framework 4.5 or higher' on failed.

 

after the uninstall of .net 3.5 and restart the server, the same failure: please install 'microsoft .net framework 4.5 or higher'.

 

an idea how to deal with that here?

Number format calculations - how?

Hi all

 

The option to format numbers are greyed out for a calculation (eg. percentage difference). It would be nice to limit the number of decimals etc.


Does anyone know if it is possible at all?

 

I'm using 2.2 SP01, and have searched for other threads on the same topic, but didn't really find anything.
