SAP Analysis for office: Filter not working after callback on re-display

Hello

 

I have am having a strange issue with the filter component in analysis for office.

 

I have a standard filter component that I used to filter measures in 2 queries.

 

To adjust the layout based on filtering input, a code is executed to hide/show some rows in the workbook.

 

The code is found a callback on re-display macro that is registered at initialization of the workbook and called every-time if the filter is used.

 

The issue is that the filter component is rendered useless after i use it the first time (and the callback code is called).

 

I cannot filter anymore since the filter was converted in some basic text. I have removed the callback code and it worked fine again.

 

However, the callback code is crucial to this workbook, so I cannot do without.

 

The issue does not seem to be with the content of the macro since I have tried other dummy codes on callback, the issue persists.

 

Since this is a standard component, the callback on re-display coding is the only option I have seen to trigger an action when a filter is chosen.

 

Can anybody advise?


How to derive Grand TOTAL value of Total of measure 1 and Total of measure 2 in Analysis office for Excel v2.1?

Hi Everyone,

 

I have a dimension, 2 measures to be reported on Analysis Office for Excel v2.1; The report shows the total values for those 2 measures. I need to derive the Grand TOTAL of Total values of 2 measures separately. Is there anyway to derive it in Analysis office? Please suggest.

Analysis for Office 2.2: smart copy missing?

Hi everyone,

 

I just installed Analysis for Office 2.2 and tried what kind of new features are possible.
But then I haven`t found the "smart copy" or "generate slide" button (see attachement).
According to the user guide it should still be possible to smart copy.
Is it hidden somewhere?

Date format in Analysis for Excel

Hello,

 

Any ideas how I can change the format to a "real date format" ?

 

I have a query result in Analysis, showing some date fields (info object Data type DATS (8)) but I can't really use the result format as a date.

I can't, for instance, calculate number of days, since the filed is treated as a text field.

 

Any workarounds that coud be helpful ?

start a second planning sequence only after succes of first sequence

Hi all,

 

we have created a VBA-button in an AfO mask which should run 2 planning sequences and then do a save plan data in the end.

As usual in planning, we want to run the second sequence only in case the first sequences has run succesful without any errors and the save should only be done if none of the two sequences produce any error.

 

we use the VBA command

lReturn = Excel.Application.Run("SAPExecutePlanningSequence", sPlanningSequence)

    If lReturn = 0 Then

        Call mSapErrorHandler(oErrors)

    End If

 

but the return code which we get back from the sequence is always = 1, no matter whether ther is an error or not.

Therefore the follwoing sequence and save are started, which is not correct.

 

does anyone have an ides on how to run the two seqneunces and get the correct information about the success or error of the first sequence?

Hi Folks,

 

I have AO setup with SSO to BW. Working fine in 2 of my environments for me but in my Production

environment we are seeing this error when choosing our data source in AO (click next) :

 

ABAP Runtime Error: No RFC authorization for function module RSAO_BICS_SESSION_INITIALIZE. (ID-107013)

 

Looking for some assistance in identifying the needed security in BW to fix this error message.

Here is some background and spec's.....

 

Our system is as follows:

 

BOE 4.1 SP1 Patch 1 

AO version: 1.4 SP11

BW: 7.31 SP12

SSO to BW is enabled (SNC & STS)

 

SSO setup through BOBJ, users authenticating with LDAP and using WebI/AO to a Olap Connection set to SSO.

 

This is working in my Development and UAT environment, it is our move to Prod where I see this happening.

I am working with my security and Basis team to dig through this further but thought I would put this out there

should anyone have come across this error message and be able to share their resolution.

Analysis for Excel - folder structure in 'My Documents'

Simple question: You want to save an analysis workbook to the BW backend, in your favourites (now called 'My Documents'). Is it possible to create your own folder structure under here?

 

I've seen a couple of (unanswered) questions on this in the past, but i want to see if someone might have found a solution for this in the latest versions...

Tune up performance in AO Workbook

Hello All -

 

I am working with Embedded Planning BW 7.4 with HANA SP 12, and AO 2.2 SP 1. I have performance issue in workbook. The issue happens at: Open the workbook from Server. It takes almost 2 minutes to Open/Launch Workbook, and "refresh" it.

 

I have already run RSTT, and found the backend only needs in Second(s). Hence, I am assuming the bottleneck is in the Analysis Office.

 

Since performance is the key for us, could you please advise how I can improve this?

  • What's the do, and don'ts in working AO?
  • How to trace to find out the culprit in this performance issue?
  • What is the SAP Notes that we must implement to increase the performance?
  • We run the BW HANA on AWS - Amazon Web Service. Is the performance issue caused by the network? How can I analyzer the Network if the Network is the culprit of this?

FYI,

  • The workbook has 5 Queries, Macros for BADI After_Display; to split the 1000 Chars into 4 input text box. And if I comment out the Macro, the performance is still the same.

Hi,

I'm trying to extract data by using sapgetdata formula.

=SAPGetData("DS_1";"BMFM8QY11IIJ69GKX29Y4CQAY";"0FISCYEAR=K4"&$I$1;"ZCS_COMP="&$F$8;"0CS_ITEM="&$A21;"ZCS_MOVTP="&G$11;"0CURKEY_LC="&$Y$7;"ZCS_FUNAR=#";"ZCS_PCOMP=TOTAL";"ZCS_PBU=TOTAL";"ZCS_ICOMP=TOTAL")

 

The requirement would be extracting figures for movement types 100-200, instead of direct cell link ZCS_MOVTP="&G$11.

 

Does anyone has an idea how it could work?

How do we restrict values in Drop down list (F4) in Analysis Office

Hello all,

 

We have a requirement where in we need to restrict the values a user sees in the drop down list in the Input Templates. We are using Office Analysis 2.2

 

The challenge here is that the info object (Cost Center) is not Authorization Relevant. The client wants to maintain the possible values for each user in a DSO. The drop down list should show the values assigned to the user in the DSO.

 

Any ideas as to how we can achieve this?

WinAD SSO for Advance Analysis Office to BI 4.1

We have configured our BI 4.1 (SP2 patch1, Win2008 R2) to use SSO for WinAD ((Kerberos). this working without any problem, we can logon to the BI Launchpad without user and password.

 

Now the next step is, that we can logon to BI 4.1 with the Advance Analysis for Office, also with SSO.

 

For this i read the note '1785270 - How to configure AD SSO for Advance Analysis for MS Office with Business Objects BI 4.0'

 

If we logon tp BI 4.1 we got the error this message:

'constructor exception (Error: WSE 99999)'

 

This are our settings in the file web.xml:

Analysis: How to open a query in display mode and switching to input ready via macro?

Hi everybody,

 

for our customer we created a simple planning sheet with Analysis in MS Office 2010.

Everythink works fine but we do not want the workbook to open the query in change mode.

The user should be able to switch to change mode using a button on the sheet.

Unfortunately we need to set on the Design Panel the mark to open the query in the input ready mode.

So first user blocks all others. Settings special filters or authoriziation is not an option here.

 

Opening the workbook only in display mode and trying to switch to change mode using

 

Application.Run("SAPExecuteCommand", "PlanDataToChangeMode")

 

does not work.

 

I get a result 14, "Command PlanDataToChangeMode is not enabled".

 

How can I enable the command, without using the Design Panel?

Analysis for excel: copy sheet from one workbook to another one

Hi,

 

I have one queryopened in a sheet, with their selected filters and so on.

 

Now I want to copy that sheet from this workbook to another one. So that, with the right button of the sheet I select "move or copy" and, copy the sheet to the second workbook. All of these is correct.

 

My problem is that in the second workbook I cannot update the query I have just copied. I'm connected to my bw server but this query seems not to be connect. The analysis screen is empty.

 

Can anybody help me?

Average is not correct in case empty cells

Hi,

 

I need to calculate the average of a cell but this functions doesn't work fine in case there are empty cell.

 

My question is, is it possible to fill empty cells with zero value?

 

By default when a value is zero the cell is empty.

As I have seen some questions related to Office 2016, I decided to create this post just to clarify that the developers are already working on it and MS Office 2016 is planned to be supported in AO 2.2 in Q1, 2016.

 

Currently it is not supported. You can refer to PAM to check the supported environments.

BO Analysis standard workbook

Hi all,

 

we are migrating some BEx workbooks to BO Analysis for office 1.4. As for our first try it worked really good in our opinion. We just have some question regarding the "got to" functionality and standard workbooks.

We created a standard workbook which we used as template for all our BEx reports. After migration we still have all the template look and feel but we want to use that created standard workbook for all our Analysis reports also when we use the "go to"/ "report to report interface" function.

 

For example:

The user will open a report workbook saved within the BW repository. For further analysis he/she wants to "drill down" to another query. With right click onto the table and selecting the "Go to" functionality the desired query is available as we configured all that within the query designer and the BW. By selecting the query, a new workbook opens without any layout or standard workbook look&feel. Just a new workbook with standard excel layout opens and the query result is entered from cell A1 to xyz.

We would love to have that report opened with a standard look and feel but can not find any way for this. Therefore we would need a template or standard workbook functionality so that every Analysis reports which will open, will have that basis template look&feel.

 

Could anyone provide help for that issue or is this not available in the Analysis version 1.4?

AO VBA: To Validate percentage ?

Hello All -

 

I am working for BPC Embedded Planning BW 7.4 and AO 2.2.

 

I would kindly like to ask how I can do to validate Input for % Multiplier using VBA Macro in AO 2.2.

 

I have a case.

I have a button e.g. Button Validation

If user press Validation button, it will validate percentage input not to exceed than 100%. e.g. for the case below, it will give the error message for Account 6000001 since the percentage is 120.

 

Could I kindly ask your help please to advise what the syntax, or function, or logic in VBA AO Macro to have that validation? Really appreciate if you give the sample VBA Code?

How to change Variable screen layout?

Hi all,

 

I want to change the variable screen layout of Analysis for office in order to get the same behaviour as in BEX Analyser.

Indeed, when I use a Multiple single value variable (or select option is the same), several lines are created in case of several values are chosen by the user.

I would like to get the same behaviour as in BEX Analyser and get the values in one line separated with ";" (of course without having to change the reporting tool !!!)...

 

Does anyone know how to achieve this (if it is achievable)?

Error of duplicate file in the moment of save the workbook

Hi experts.

 

I'm having some troubles saving  some workbooks in Analysis. I make some changes in my workbook, but in the moment when i save the file, the program create a new file and doesn't rewrite the original. What can i do to solve that?

How to define custom hierarchies in Analysis office for excel v2.1?

Hi

 

I am using Analysis office for excel v2.1; I have a requirement where some of the list of values in a dimension should be displayed in a hierarchical manner. If the Hierarchy is not defined in back end HANA level, is it possible to create a custom hierarchy in Analysis office?

 

Note: The Hierarchy option in the tool is disabled at all the time. Will it be enabled only when the Hierarchy is defined at HANA level?

 

Please let us know your suggestions.
