Message - Not authorized to.. Bug or feature?

Hello,

we have some SAP BO Analysis workbooks recently transported to our productive-environment. The users receive the following message, everytime they open the workbook.

The users use the workbooks only for output information. They don't need to create, delete or change the document as readers. The roles/rights are set correct. So why does analysis bother the users with this information? How can we hide that message?

Add.Infor.: Our p-system is write-protected. So we gave them for testing purposes create, delete and change rights. The message disappears, but that should not be an option..

Thanks & Regards,

Michael

Hello,

I configured SSO for Analysis for Excel according to "1785270  - How to configure AD SSO for Advance Analysis for MS Office with Business Objects BI 4.0".

For me it only works when i allow unsecured connections in my web.xml

            <param-name>idm.allowUnsecured</param-name>

            <param-value>true</param-value>

There is a strong warning about it. What can I do that SSO also works with this parameter set to false?

Hello,

I'm trying to create a dynamic graph with a secondary axis for certain key figures as a combination of Bar and Line

Once I refresh the workbook the secondary axis is gone and the formatting of the axis as well.

I have to format the data series to plot on secondary axis every time and also change the series chart type to Line

Is this a known error or is there any setting that I have missed ?

Greatful for any input

Thanks and regards

Publish Analysis workbooks on BI Portal

Hi all,

Earlier in BW 3.x and 7.x - we had a Bex browser where we have saved all the workbooks and linked these workbooks to our BI Portal (created ivew's off workbooks) and BI Portal is a single interface which the users see and open their workbooks and web reports( designed in Web application Designer). In a similar fashion we want to post the Analysis workbooks on to BIU Portal - but this cannot be done. This feature does not work for analysis workbooks. - We can open a web report, workbook, and even a webi document and xcelcius dashboard from a BI portal. This is feature is not available for Analysis Workbooks. Wanted to check how the other customers implementing Analysis are handling issue which is a major concern for us.

How to call up variable screen via VBA API in AnalysisOffice

$

Dear Community,

we are currently migrating our BEx Analyzer workbooks to Analysis Office 1.4.

We are missing one important feature from BEx analyzer and that is to call up the variable screen via VBA with the VBA command Run "SAPBex.xla!SAPBEXRefresh", True.

This feature we are using to call up the variable screen via a button in the workbook.

Is there anything similar in BO Analysis Office?

Thank you very much for your help!

Bex 3.5 Analyzer and Query Designer supported by future releases?

We are currently using Bex 3.5 Analyzer and Query Designer. With Analysis Office 1.4, I am able to open Bex 3.5 Workbooks.

Just wondering, will Bex 3.5 Queries and Workbooks still be supported by future release of Analysis Office (ie. after 1.4)? Is there any plan to support Workbooks/Queries only from Bex 7.x onwards?

Insert Component - Filter: SAP BI Add-in has disconnected all data sources

When we try to add a filter via Insert Component - Filter we get the following error message:

"An exception occurred in one of the data sources.

SAP BI Add-in has disconnected all data sources. (ID-111007)"

"Nested exception. See inner exception below for more details:

Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

We get disconnected and have to close Analysis completely.

We are on version 1.3 SP5 (version 1.3.5.2288)

What could be the reason for this disconnection?

If we filter the same dimension via the Design Panel then we have no issues.

Kind regards,

Impossible to change order of key figures

Hi all,

I've entountered issues when trying to change the order of key figures. It seems impossible for key figures designed in a hierarchical structure. (Ordering of key figures of a plain structure is ok.)

For example resorting the outputs putting the MTD columns before the FYTD ones.

Have anybody found how to solve that in BOA?

Errors in Custom Planningfunctions not recognized in AO

$

Hi there,

I have a scenario where we call a custom planning function form AO using following VBA statement:

lResult = Application.Run("SAPExecutePlanningFunction", "CheckData")

The function "CheckData" is a custom planning function doing some checks on the data.

When there is an error we raise an error message like this:

Greenshot_2013-08-14_17-40-06.png

The error message also comes up in AO.

Now the problem: The IResult does not reflect the error (value 1).

Do we have to set anything additonal in the planning function?

Thanks

Oliver

Hi,

I am trying to get the following number format in my cross tab

100 000 000.00 for negatives (100 000 000.00)

I have created a default style and updated the following;

me>SAPDataCell</Name>

      <NameLocal>SAPDataCell</NameLocal>

      <FormulaHidden>false</FormulaHidden>

      <Locked>true</Locked>

      <MergeCells xsi:nil="true" />

      <NumberFormat># ##0_);(# ##0)</NumberFormat>

I have also set my regional settings for both number and currency to reflect this format, But in my workbook the numbers display as follows. What am I missing?

Missing OLAP connections under "SAP Authentication"

$

Hello Experts

I have question on the OLAP Connections for Office Analysis

In Development box,When I login to SAP BOBJ Analysis for Office using "SAP Authentication", I don't see any OLAP

connections under "Select Data Source". But they do show up when I log in using "Enterprise" Authentication".

What needs to be done in order for OLAP connections that are created in CMC/IDT to show up when i login using  "SAP Authentication"?

In Sandbox there is no such issue.

We are on SAP BOBJ 4.0 ;Office Analysis version 1.4.1.2585

Any suggestions/thoughts are much appreciated.

Thanks

Ramesh

Insert a data source using a local connection to SAP HANA - required privileges?

Hello,

Following this guide http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_qT9AOZOfuw I have successfully added my local HANA system to Analysis Office. However I receive error when I try to import a Calc View. I assume that the reason for this is that the HANA user that I use for connection does not have some required roles or privileges as I am able to do the same thing with SYSTEM user. Here is the error:

Unable to execute SQL statement (GET_CHARACTERISTICS) \: MDX SELECT "DIMENSION_UNIQUE_NAME", "COLUMN_NAME", "COLUMN_TYPE_D", "COLUMN_SQL_TYPE", "DESC_NAME", "DIMENSION_COLUMN_NAME", "DIMENSION_DESC_NAME", "COLUMNOBJECT_NAME", "DESC_TYPE", "DESC_TYPE_D", "DESC_COLUMN_SQL_TYPE", "KEY_COLUMN_NAME", "COLUMN_CAPTION", "DISPLAY_COLUMN_NAME", "DIMENSION_CAPTION" FROM BIMC_DIMENSION_VIEW  WHERE ( "CUBE_NAME" = 'SO_CV'  AND "CATALOG_NAME" = 'hanaservices.hanaservices.hihana.web'  AND "DIMENSION_UNIQUE_NAME" <> '[Measures]'  )   ORDER BY "KEY_COLUMN_NAME"  DESC   (ERROR [42000] [SAP AG][LIBODBCHDB32 DLL][HDBODBC32] Syntax error or access violation;257 sql syntax error: Error:insufficient privilege: Not authorized at ptime/query/checker/query_check.cc:2137)

I'm using the latest version 1.4 and my HANA is rev60.

Thanks,

Emil

Hi All,

we are using Analysis for Office 1.4 with BO 4.0 SP5 / BW 7.02 SP13.

We created workbook with two bex as datasource and saved it to BI Platform.

Afterward when we open the workbook, both reports get refresh fine. Now I removed one of the report and saved back to server.

Issue is prompt for deleted query continue to come. How to get rid of this?

Characteristic xxx has no master date for "..."

We have a report where we can add a filter on members.

But when we add a filter on Account Number (0ACCOUNT) or Profit Center (0PROFIT_CTR) and we save our report with these filters it is impossible to open the report again with the choosen filters.

We always get an error message:

Characteristic Profit Center has no master date for "CADCP901"

(com.sap.ip.bi.bics.dataaccess.consumer.impl.selector.selection.SingleMember-NoMasterdata)

All selections for characteristic Profit Center are invalid and have been discarded (com.sap.ip.bi.bics.dataaccess.consumer.impl.selector.selection.ComponentList-AllRejected)

I think this is caused by the fact that 0ACCOUNT and 0PROFIT_CTR but have a compounded attribute (0CHRT_ACCTS and 0CO_AREA).

Is this a known issue and how can we solve this?

We are on version 1.3 SP5 (version 1.3.5.2288)

Analysis Functions to determine Totals and Scaling Factor display status

$

0

I've been using SAPGetCellInfo via VBA to try and determine the properties of specific cells within the Crosstab. I'm using Analysis for Excel 1.4.0.2528, which I think is the pre-SP1 release of v1.4.

In order to distinguish between cells, I'm calling SAPGetCellInfo twice, as follows:

S = Application.Run("SAPGetCellInfo", rngMyCell, "SELECTION")

D = Application.Run("SAPGetCellInfo", rngMyCell, "DIMENSION")

By inspecting the contents of S and D, I can usually determine whether a cell is a Dimension Cell, a Member Cell or a Data Cell, and what the associated dimensions are, but things get ambiguous when the Crosstab has Totals and/or Scaling Factors displayed.....

The Analysis ribbon lets you set whether Totals are Shown, Hidden or Hidden when there's only 1 member, for each dimension, and whether those totals appear before or after the dimension members. However, I don't seem to be able to programtically read/write what those "Totals-Display" settings are for each dimension, and so I can't be certain if a Data Cell is a Total, other than by checking the name of the style that is applied to the cell. That is, when calling SAPGetCellInfo on a cell that is a total (of a ROW, or a COLUMN, or both), the list of dimensions that is returned by Application.Run("SAPGetCellInfo", rngMyCell, "SELECTION") doesn't include the dimensions that are being totalled.

For example, my Crosstab has 1 Dimension AND Measures over rows, and 2 dimensions over columns. When calling Application.Run("SAPGetCellInfo", rngMyCell, "SELECTION"), if the queried cell is:

1) A total of row dimensions, and a total of column dimensions, then ONLY the measures dimension is returned.

2) A member of a row dimension, and a total of column dimensions, then ONLY all of the row dimensions are returned

3) A total of row dimensions, and a member of the column dimension, then ONLY all of the column dimensions PLUS the measures dimension are returned

4) A member of a row dimension, and a member of a column dimension, then ALL row AND ALL column dimensions are returned

I suppose I could use SAPListOfDimensions to determine the ROWS and COLUMNS that should be present when I call SAPGetCellInfo on a data cell, and then assume that those missing dimensions mean that the cell is a total over the missing dimensions.... But that seems like an unreliable solution, not least because the Scaling Factor settings introduce a further complication, as per below....

The Analysis ribbon also lets you set whether Scaling Factors are shown for measures. However, there doesn't seem to be any way to programatically read/write what that setting is, and so I can't be certain if a cell is a Data cell total or a Scaling factor. When calling SAPGetCellInfo against a Scaling Factor cell, only the Row dimensions are returned, or in other words, the SAPGetCellInfo return value is exactly the same as a data cell that is a total over columns.

For example, using the same Crosstab as above, and again calling Application.Run("SAPGetCellInfo", rngMyCell, "SELECTION"), if the queried cell is:

1) A total of row dimensions, and is a Scaling Factor column, then ONLY the measures dimension is returned (same result as 1 above)

2) A member of a row dimension, and is a Scaling Factor column, then ONLY all of the row dimensions are returned (same result as 2 above)

Am I missing something, or is there a way I can reliably distinguish between a Scaling Factor cell, a Data Cell and a Total Data Cell, and what the actual dimensions of those cells are, even if some or all of those dimensions are totals? Is there a programmatic way to get or set the Totals display and/or Totals placement on a dimension, or the Scaling Factor display settings for a crosstab?

Version Question

Hi all,

I'm wondering if the different versions of Analysis for Office are backwards compatible?

The reason I ask is that at one of the clients my company deal with, on the local machines they have version 1.2.8 but on the QA server the version of Analysis for Office has been upgraded to 1.3.<something>.  There seem to be erros when trying to run analysis for office locally and wondered if this could be contributing.

I know with other SAP products (BusinessObjects for example, the client tools on the local machine need to be the same SW & Patch version, so I'd guess that Analysis for Office would need to be the same, but I'd like confirmation before suggesting upgrading the older software.

Thanks

Ian
