We are trying to implement What-if analysis in Analysis Office tool like Revenue increase by N percentages. Excel formula applied for this in the adjacent column of keyfigure that is coming from BEx Query.
Here, I need to save the Workbooks in versions as V1, V2, V3, etc., for various percentages.
When I try to save this in BO platform, only the version V1 (first copy) is getting saved. But, the modified workbook is not getting saved with different name as V2 or V3, etc.,
When I try to save this Netweaver platform, even the first copy V1 is not getting saved. But it displays in the save window before closing the Analysis Office application.
Please provide information on VERSION MANAGEMENT with Analysis Office.
Note: I see a difference in 'Open' and 'Save' window that is Roles are not visible in the 'Open Workbook' window but Roles are visible in 'Save Workbook' window.

Dear all,
I am working with a SAP how to paper, which is called:
How To... Execute Planning Functions and Sequences from MS Office Ribbon.
It is working absolutely fine and I am pretty satisfied, but as you probably know "Control the visibility of a button based on the visibility of a related crosstab: the button just disappears once the related crosstab is not located on the active sheet."
This means, when I insert different queries in different crosstabs, only one crosstab will have my own created ribbon. Is it also possible to set another specific ribbon with other buttons for another crosstab? Can I change the macro, included in the appendix of the how to paper, regarding this issue?

I have inserted 2 Datasources, one for each of the 2 BEx queries in my Analysis for Office (A4O) report.
I now need to merge dimensions (like in webI).
Please tell me if there is a way of Merging dimensions and getting the output of the 2 queries on a single sheet in A4O report.

Hi,
I am trying to schedule a workbook in Analysis for Excel from CMC. The schedule always fails when I uncheck the APPLY DEFAULT FORMATS in the components tab of the Display Analysis. The schedule works fine if this box is checked. Has anyone come across this issue?

currently using SAP Analysis for Office Excel as planning tool and integrated with SAP BI-IP. We have a requirement where the calculation of the values are done at the virtual class and feed to the excel. User could change this calculated values in the frontend. However, by changing this value it will affect the calculation components of the values calculated. These components are also being feed into the excel.
Now if the user change the calculated value to something else, we need to have the capability for user to perform "RECALCULATION" as per in the planning ribbon by recalculation the components as well. However, the button recalculation doesn't go back to the virtual class where we code all the calculation.
My question is, is there a way to trigger the class again upon clicking Recalculation button. The SAVE button does it but we do not want to SAVE until user is happy with the data. It doesn't have to be triggering the same REcalculation button, just a service, VBA functions or etc that we can utilise to retrigger the virtual class to recalculate and push the revised value of the calculation components back to the excel. Below is a mock up (sort of) of what we are trying to achieve. It is a very simple mock up and doesn't represent the complexity of the calculation and why we have to perform the calculation at the backend (virtual class) rather than in the query. So please bear with me.
1. Virtual Class calculates KF "Amount" in virtual class based on "Price" x "Quantity".
2. Planning Layout (Excel) will display all 3 values - Amount, Price and Quantity
3. User changes the "Price" value in the Excel
4. requirement -> user need to see the "Amount" being recalculated and reflected in the excel BEFORE Saving
I can only achieve step 4 by reaccessing the virtual class, recalculate and push back the recalculated value "Amount" to planning layout. How can i do that? understood the data is stored in the Planning Buffer and the RECALCULATION function uses these to perform the recalculation. is there any way or method that we can access the planning buffer?

If any changes are done in SAP BO Analysis office, then the change can be done in the SAP BW in the respective Targets.
But how can we do the changes in the SAP ECC ? Is it possible to do the changes in the tables ?

I create a worksheet, including two block, one of which have detail information with multiple characts and one key figure, another block only have sumerization information takes one cell, which is summarized key figure for that detail information block.
I implement this summary cell with formula 'GETDATA', but it is only effective after I show total for detail block.
such as for detail block:
employee_no, wage type, earning_amount.
overall result total for earning_amount
for summary block:
summary of earning_amount for all employees in the detail block.
please tell me how to display summary block without pulling in overall result for detail block.

Hi guys,
We want our users to log onto BW via the BO platform. At the moment I can pull a BW user through into our BO system and they can log onto Analysis by selecting BO platform using SAP Authentication. The next step is that they need to log onto BW. We don't have SSO set up so again they use their BW userID and password.
What are the options open to us for allowing our users to log onto BW? By that I mean which of the connection options can we use? Currently I only see a list of systems when I select 'Local System' and it pulls thought the systems from my .ini file and I can connect ok to any system regardless of which BO system I connected to.
Can/should I be able to see a list of Systems that we want to give our users access to from the 'System' option from the conenctions pull-down?
I can't find any documentation that details how I go about doing this, if it's at all possible. I assume I do some security in the BO CMC?

If not do we have any other alternate Excel based tool which connects to BO 4.0 universe.
Please suggest.
we do have a webi and export to excel.
Requirement:
1. We have a BO 4.0 universe.
2. Users use the BO 4.0 and create webi reports for excel dump as they are flexible in excel.
3. Can we eliminate Webi and allow any other Excel based tool to directly connect to BO 4.0 universe.

Dear all,
as you can derive from the title, I want to set a "default ribbon" when opening a workbook. So the users don't end up on the standard Excel "File" or "home" ribbon, but on my self created "planning" ribbon.
The users should not use any other ribbon and therefore I want to lead them into our own one. It should be as user-friendly as possible
Does anyone know if and how this is possible?

I have installed HANA Client and Client for excel.
I have created an ODBC source for HANA connection.
Now my issue is that when I click on Insert DataSource in Analysis Office, I don't see my created ODBC Connection there.
How can I resolve this issue?

I have a simple question regarding the creating of workspaces. I have created a external data set i Excel, which I need to linked to the data set created by the a normal BW query. After I have selected the data set and clicked the "Create"-button in the Datasource-ribbon I select the specific BW system. After I have pressed "Next" I should be able to select the a workspace where the Transient Provider needs to be created. Unfortunately the screen i blank
Do any of your experts know where I can find information about setting up workspaces
