Crosstab overlaps Excel Cell Content

Dear Experts,

 

    I used Analysis for Excel and allow users to add lines in the report. (After that they will upload that Excel File to BW)

 

   My problem is that I come across the error message Crosstab overlaps Excel Cell Content. The reason is data in crosstab overlap users input data.

 

   Is there any way to let the system replace the user input lines and ignore this warning msg?

Expand to level for a structure in VBA

We use collapsed structures in our query for performance reasons, so we do not show all key figures when the workbook opens. Now we would like to have a functionality written in VBA which should open the structure up to a specified level like it is done when I use "Expand to level" -> "1" in the context menu. (This is of course only a part of the functionality)

 

I already tried to use SAPSetFilter without any success. Is there any VBA command available that I could use?

"Authorization error" while accessing Multiprovider in Analysis for excel tool

Hi,

We are using "Analysis for excel" 1.4 version. My users are executing all queries out of any MP with out any issue. But while accessing Multi Provider in "Analysis for excel" tool they are geeting "Authorization" error.  Any suggestions please.

Highlight Changed Cells - Too many cells (no named range)?

Hello,

 

I implemented the Highlight Changed Cells Function as described in the How-To-Paper from Gerd Schoeffl (How To...Highlight Changed Cells in SAP BusinessObjects Analysis for Office).

 

In my workbook I have two tabs with different crosstabs. I noticed that the highlighting function only works for one of them and that there is a warning for the other one: "There is no named range for Crosstab1". In the coding I saw that the error message is put out by the Highlighting Changed Cells subs but I am not sure why the problem occurs (I could not find out at which point of the runtime the error occurs, even when I tried debugging it).

 

When I restrict the selection to less cells it works for the same crosstab. Therefore I would assume that there are simply too many cells for the function to work, is that possible? And if so, has anybody found a solution? In the crosstab there are 376 rows and 21 columns...

Hello All,

 

While saving workbook created in Analysis Office; on BO Platform i am getting the following error :

 

Some of the data sources in the document cannot be transported (ID-108020)

 

Does anybody know how to solve this ?

Is there a way to configure Analysis for Office so that I don't have to click the Skip button

 

And go directly to the list of SAPGUI servers?

Stop refreshing of Workbook

Hello All,

 

I have created one workbook in Analysis office for MS Excel and saved in BO platform. In that workbook I used Trendline with Option of displaying Equation of Chart and Display R-squared value.

 

When I download this workbook from BI Launch Pad and refresh, all the above settings changes .

 

How can i restrict the workbook from automatic changes?

use case for multiple crosstabs under one datasource

I'm trying to understand why one would have multiple crosstabs for one datasource.  When I change one crosstab, it changes the other crosstab.  I was could have a different layout for multiple crosstabs.

Hello Expert,

 

I am asked by end-users to change the default layout of all Analysis for Excel report :

  • by default, all cells of key figures (100 € for example) are left-aligned.
  • users would like to have cells right-aligned.

 

Could you please tell me which Style has to be modified and to apply it to every report.

crosstab disconnected from data source

Hi There,

 

Just recently, few users have reported issues where the crosstab is disconnected from its data source. Therefore, when data source is refreshed then it doesn't refresh the sheet with crosstab. In the following example, crosstab1 on "Production BI" sheet is connected to data source but rest of the sheet has lost it's crosstab connection to data source. However, I can still see all the data sources in the prompt window.

We are using following

 

> Analysis for Excel - Version 1.4 SP6

> Excel 2013

 

Is there anyway that we can re-assign data source to crosstab without creating a new sheet with new crosstab and data source? Any help will be highly regarded.

Connecting AAO to HANA

Hi Folks,

 

Quick question - probably an easy one. I'm wanting to play around with AAO (usually I work in HANA) and am not clear on how to connect to HANA.

 

In one version of AAO in on system, after clicking "Insert Data Source", shows three folders: Connections, Favorites and HANA. This version of AAO just seems to be called "Analysis for Office". I can connect to a HANA system fine with this version.

 

However, in another system, I have a laptop with "Advanced Analysis for Office" pre-installed. When I similarly try to insert a new data source, all I see are SAP connections - no options to connect to HANA.

Any ideas? Also, what's the difference between "Analysis" and "Advanced Analysis" for Office?

Set filter on measures during workbook start

Hi,

 

I am trying to set a filter on the measures of a plan query. Depending on the current calendar month either two or one key figures should be hidden. I would like to compare the current system date to a threshold value each time I start the workbook.

The code (bold part of the sub) I created for this works fine when I am running it through pressing a button but when I put the code in the Workbook_SAP_Initialize() sub nothing happens.

The sub also includes other code, I am not sure whether it has something to do with the problem (even though I also tried the filter part without the rest of the sub and it did not work either). I also tried the regular Workbook_Open sub that Excel provides but that didn't work.

 

Does anybody have an idea?

No BW systems available in the Connections list

Hi,

 

I'm trying to insert a BW query as a datasource, but there are no BW systems in the connection list. Does anyone konw how to fix this? Copy the saplogon.ini file to another location? Where to?

System components installed:
Analysis for Office 1.3.4.2229
SAP Gui  720 Final Release  7200.2.6.1062 (And several BW systems in SAP Logon)
Excel 2010.

Upload Member Filter from Text File

In BEx Analyzer you can upload a text file with the members you want to use in filtering a characteristic. In the Select Member dialog you right click in the Selection area and chose "Upload Selections". Is it possible to accomplish the same mass uploading of the members with the "Filter by Member" option in Analysis?


Invalid confidential channel(FWB 00032)

Hi,

 

We are having an issue with BOBJ analysis while giving the credentials it shows an error like "invalid confidential channel" intermittently.

However we are using the correct password and user-id even though some users are effecting while login into BOBJ,even I faced the same.

 

Could you please let me know why issue occurring intermittently.

Hello,

 

We are in analysis of excel 1.4, and created workbooks with 'Merge variable' checked and we saved the query in SAP BI platform. Now my question is why we cannot create a variant in this case(the option is greyed out with message to create the variant after saving the workbook in Netweaver platform).

 

I know if we save the workbook in Netweaver the system allows to create the variant or if i uncheck my merge variable then also the system allows to create a variable.

Modifying an interface (column width, cell borders, etc.)

Dear Community,

 

as you can see in the title, I am trying to modify an user interface. We are using Excel BOA as a frontend to our business partners and I want to make it more clearly; but I'm currently facing some issues regarding this.

 

First of all, I want to "fix" or "lock" the column widths. Therefore I used "Format" --> "Sheet protection" and marked the selections, which users still might change. Unfortunately after locking the column widths BOA won't let me refresh the whole worksheet. Even if I "only" lock some specific cells outside of a planning function (for example cells related to a process graphic).

Is there any other way I can deal with this?

 

In addition, is it possible to automatically mark the third row within a single cell "bold".

E.g.     

Plan data
Season 1
November

Plan data

Season 1

December

 

 

In this case all the months (November, December, etc.) in this row should be automatically marked "bold".

 

At last I also have an issue regarding the cell borders. I added some individual cell styles. I edited the font color as well as the background color, but when I want to change the border color, it won't apply. Font and background color are working perfectly fine. Is this a known problem or am I doing something wrong?
